Another Åmot

Most paddlers who come to Norway will end up on the Sjoa at some point. If you paddled on Sjoa then there is a good chance you have enjoyed the Åmot section.

This short section at the end of the Sjoa is run for the whole paddling season from low water when the lines are technical and creeky to high water when it is big and boily. Every level inbetween is a treat.

This year the ice opened up enough to start boating on April 3rd. There was still a lot of ice and on the first few trips not much more than 10 cumecs of water. At this level it really is another Åmot with very different lines.

Rob Wilson of Planet River got a some shots of Martin Vollen and Greig McColm and we also have a small movie from Martin. Enjoy!
